 Frequently Asked Questions

Flag Football practices start on or around the week of August 5th. The frequency of
practices are 3 or 4 days a week.

Tackle football practice will begin around the last week of 29. Practices are usually scheduled for five days a week until Labor Day or when school starts.

*Practices are scheduled around coaches schedules, so time and days may vary.

Is practice every day necessary?

YES! The first month of practice is known as the conditioning month. Your child has enrolled in
a sport that requires him or her to be ready to play against others who have conditioned in the
same manner. If your child is not conditioned properly, he or she could be prone to injuries.

How can I contact someone from the CSYFA?

The easiest way is by calling the CSYFA* Hotline (630-415-3685). This hotline has a recorded
message telling you about upcoming events, location of practices, location of games and other
general information. You may also e-mail the CSYFA at webmaster@csyfa.com or you can check the website (www.csyfa.org/com) for a listing of the CSYFA Executive Board and their contact numbers.

*To request refunds please contact the treasurer of the program.

I think my child should be in another weight class. How do I change it?

The Bill George Youth Football League (BGYFL) sets standards of age and weight that the CSYFA
must adhere to. The CSYFA has a committee that makes every effort to make sure your child is
placed in the weight division in which he or she is best suited.

Helmet, shoulder pads, knee pads, thigh pads, rib protector and uniform.

Every child who plays must have a mouth guard, spikes, an athletic supporter, girdle with pads,
practice pants and some type of practice jersey/shirt. We recommend you purchase these items
before mid-July. Due to demand, some of these items are hard to find late in the summer.

Practices are held at various parks and schools throughout Carol Stream. You will be notified a
few days prior to the first practice of your child’s location for practice. If you do not
receive a call, you may call the hotline (415-3685) for practice info or contact the CSYFA president.

Yes. The CSYFA has options for fundraising. You must choose one at the time of your
registration.

Unfortunately, your child will not be able to participate in the CSYFA and you will be issued a
refund or you can buy out of the fundraiser.

The CSYFA will hold a parent’s meeting before the season begins.  It is imperative that parents attend.

Ask any one of the board members, sign up for a committee at registration or call the hotline at
415-3685. Remember, our program is only as good as you make it – so go ahead and get involved.

Yes, contact the treasurer.  He/she will need the request in writing, an email is fine.  Please see the "Contact Us" section for more information.

Generally there are two equipment handouts scheduled prior to the season.  The times and dates will be posted on the website, or you can contact the equipment manger (see the contact us page)for details.

Due to the size of our program, it is impossible to guarantee a child on any one team so we will
not be taking any requests. We realize many players travel from other communities and we will do our best to make sure practices are scheduled near one another so parents may utilize car pools.

When and where does the board meet?

The regularly scheduled CSYFA board meetings take place the 2nd Monday of every month at the Carol Stream Public Library at 7:30 p.m. (unless otherwise noted in the Carol Stream Examiner and on our web site).

The meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
